This concert, one of the series sponsored by Kioi Hall, introduces some of the best Hôgaku (Japanese music) performers and genres. I will be performing the classic shakuhachi honkyoku Shika no Tohne (“Distant Cry of the Deer”) with Kaneko Tomoe.
Admission is only ¥2000, and the performance begins at 12 noon, Thursday, Oct. 4th. Also on the program is a Nagauta piece and the traditional Rokugo storytelling comedy.
