Veteran vocalist Sasha Bogdanowitsch will join master shakuhachi performer Christopher Yohmei Blasdel at the Hawai’i Public Radio’s Atherton Studio for an exciting concert of voice, shakuhachi and various ethnic instruments. The concert will consist of original vocal compositions set to the poetry of Rainer Maria Rilke, Pablo Neruda, John Logan, Sam Hamill and the 7th century Chinese Zen monk, Fuke Zenji. Many of the compositions from the CD Striking Light, Striking Dark will be performed along with new material.
Venue: HPR Atherton Studio, 738 Kāheka Street (across from the Honolulu Don Quijote. Metered street parking is available, as are paid lots at the First Hawaiian Kapiʻolani Branch Bank and in the Pan Am building).
