The remarkable Kurahashi Yodo II in a rare New York concert of honkyoku – solo shakuhachi Zen meditation music – plus Okayasu-Ginuta, an Edo-period chamber music gem performed with Yoko Reikano Kimura, koto. Special guest artist Christopher Yohmei Blasdel joins the program for a rarely performed solo Kinko-school honkyoku (Kinuta Sugomori). The concert will also feature the premiere of James Nyoraku Schlefer’s trio for three shakuhachi, Trois Bambou.
